5 Senses of Summer

No matter what is going on in and around you, it’s hard not to experience the wonder of simple summer pleasures. Especially here in the Northeast, those glorious summer days and sultry evenings are few and precious, engaging all of our senses in a bouquet of magnificent splendor.

The taste of delicious, smooth and creamy ice cream, refreshing iced tea or cool lemonade, freshly picked berries, juicy tomatoes off the vine.

The smell of freshly cut grass, the fragrance of sweetly scented flowers and the succulent aroma of tasty morsels grilling on the BBQ.

The sight of nature’s rainbow of colors in the garden, flags waving, small children with popsicle mustaches, neighbors walking their dogs.

The sound of children laughing, the clap of thunderstorms rolling through, the melody of the ice cream truck and the harmony of nature’s symphony that accompanies all from the singing birds of the dawn to the chirping crickets of the night.

The feel of a warm summer breeze on our skin, the refreshing coolness of a dip in soothing water, warm sand or smooth grass under our feet.

Aahh…Sweet summer!
