Rise Above Conformity

JenaprotestorsExcerpted from www.beki.com:

People, even teenagers and younger youth, around the world have a strong desire to make the world better. When we activate our personal accountability, we automatically make the world better because we are in control of our actions, and we realize that our actions must be right actions. These actions affect other people, and cause a chain reaction to help improve life for everyone.

There is a catch to taking personal accountability, and that is that you are no longer like everyone else. You no longer are in the mainstream, and this means that you will stand out by your non-victim mentality, optimism, refusal to believe the worst, desire to do something different, questioning everything, not believing what is fed to you, and belief that everyone can shift and make the changes we all say we want in the world.

This all means that you no longer are a conformist. Those who take personal accountability and innovate, are automatically not conformists. By taking personal accountability, and taking a stand for what is right, you are going to go not only against what society and the media keeps acceptable, but possibly against your own family, children, partners, friends, and co-workers.

Are you strong enough to do this? Are you strong enough to stand up for what you know is right, what you know is best for you and those around you, even if it means you are going to cause waves with those who continue to conform?

Here are some things to keep in mind as you forge your own path:

  1. Remember your personal mission statement.
  2. Welcome change.
  3. Expect the best.
  4. Consistently work through challenges.
  5. Know that you are changing the direction, for all, to a better direction.
  6. Be proud of yourself.

It takes much less effort to run your own life, than to continually try to conform to other people’s and society’s expectations. Want to be personally accountable? Be prepared to stand out from the crowd
