Take a few minutes to reflect on the year that has passed.
What was your biggest accomplishment in 2009?
What was greatest lesson you learned in 2009?
What word or short phrase best describes your experience in 2009?
For me 2009 was a year of “transformation.” A transformation of goals and direction; a clarificationof focusand purpose and sometimes a change in attitude (still working on that one.)
I started my own business(still in its infancy), created 2 websites, began blogging, ran in my first 5K and completed training to become a literacy tutor. All first steps in reaching dreams and goals that have been lurking in the dark recesses of my mind for that elusive ”someday.”
If I have to choose, then the accomplishment that I am most proud of is creating this website and community resource that I can only hope will continue to grow and evolve into something bigger and more fantastic than I can possibly imagine.
The biggest lesson I learned is that I need to release expectations and assumptions of myself, others and life’s situations. Expectations are often too rigid and usually unrealistic anyway. If can I allow life to unfold and people to act as they will without imposing my rules and assumptions, life is much easier. Perhaps most importantly, I surprise myself with what I can do without my self imposed limitations…..
