Pursuing a healthier lifestyle is a fundamentally beneficial thing that will help you in many ways in your life. However, attempting to achieve the perfect body –model thin, athlete fit – is neither realistic nor useful. In reality, perfection does not exist, because for every advance we make, there is always something else we want or need to improve. It’s about continual progress and working toward a healthier body bit by bit. The goal should be a healthy and fit body that functions well and not a visually perfect body to impress others.
For many years now, my personal goal has been at each passing birthday, to be in better health than the year before. Notice I did not say thinner or lighter, just healthier. And I can honestly say that as I celebrated 41, I was eating healthier was more physically fit and certainly had the lowest stress level that I have had in 15 years! Now if I can just break the sugar habit and get up early enough to consistently get on that treadmill….
